Brunch at The Twisted Tail!

Weekends are made for relaxation, tons of fun and of course brunch! One place that I recommend for brunch is The Twisted Tail, located at 509 S. 2nd Street Phila PA 19147 (between South St. & Lombard) owned by George Reilly. When I go out for brunch, I usually like to go before the crowds come out. I love feeling like I almost have the restaurant to myself. Now, it’s time to check out my brunch highlights!

One item that I think is a perfect choice to start with is the Spicy Big Eye Tuna. It’s spicy tuna on bibb lettuce with avocado and crispy shallots. It’s a light starter that’s very fresh, flavorful and not too spicy. Another item I really enjoy is the Beer Battered Cheese Curds. These are served with thousand island dipping sauce and a spicy tomato jam. Not sure if you can see, but the cheese from the inside is slightly oozing out! If you love cheese, you’d enjoy the extreme cheesiness from these cheese curds! They are so damn good!

For the main course, one item you can’t go wrong with is the Chicken & Waffle. It’s topped with apple butter, powdered sugar and served with maple syrup. The apple butter is a nice touch, I really enjoy the sweetness it gives to the waffle. The chicken was crispy and tender. Another item I would recommend is the Biscuits n’ Gravy. This is made with jalapeño biscuits, sausage gravy and topped with sunny side eggs. I LOVED the biscuits because they were fluffy and had a nice kick to it. You’ll definitely enjoy this whole savory skillet of deliciousness!

You know you can’t end a meal without dessert. Make sure to try the beignet! They’re served with a bourbon caramel dipping sauce. You’ll want to smother each and every beignet with this yummy sauce, I know I wanted to! There’s nothing like a sweet ending to a fabulous brunch!
